DATEV Online joins API.1: a focused first step into German accounting data
DATEV Online has joined API.1 by Zwapgrid, adding a focused way to work with DATEV accounting data.
The first release supports fiscal-year and accounting-period reads through API.1, plus company-scoped access to selected DATEV Accounting Data Exchange export routes through Proxy.1. This is a limited starting scope rather than full coverage of every DATEV product or accounting workflow.
Why DATEV matters
DATEV is a major part of Germany’s accounting ecosystem. Its software supports the exchange of accounting data and documents between businesses and their tax advisers. For banks, fintechs and SaaS platforms serving German businesses, a DATEV connection can make it possible to include an authorized accounting dataset in a financial product.
What is available in this first release?
- Accounting periods: read fiscal years and their start and end dates with
GET /accountingperiodsfor the selected dataset. - Accounting Data Exchange: use Proxy.1 for eligible DATEV export routes within the company the customer authorized. The returned data follows DATEV’s format and the app’s permissions.
- Customer-controlled access: the customer authorizes the dataset used for the connection.
Typed API.1 invoice, payment, customer, supplier and accounting-write operations are not part of this DATEV release. An export-job request starts a data export; it does not post accounting entries. Teams should verify the exact export routes and data freshness their use case requires.
Plan a DATEV connection with us
DATEV access depends on the right application, Accounting Data Exchange subscription, dataset permissions and environment setup. Production approval is separate from a successful Sandbox test. We will help you confirm the scope and requirements before you build around it.
If you already use API.1, you can evaluate DATEV accounting periods through the same unified interface. DATEV exports through Proxy.1 require handling the provider’s data format and workflow.
